Welcome from Therese Patten, Chief Executive Designate and Patrick Scott, Interim Chief Executive
Thank you for your interest in Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust and this exciting opportunity to join us as our new Director of Finance, Contracting and Estates. The vacancy has arisen following Liz Romaniak's successful appointment as Director of Finance and Information at Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust. The new postholder will build on Liz's strong legacy; inheriting high performing Finance and Estates teams who are seen as enablers of high quality care.
We hope the content in our microsite provides you with insight into our values, our inclusive culture, and our ambitions and that you will be inspired to join us on our journey.
We are a leading provider of integrated mental and physical healthcare services and of specialist learning disability services all predominantly delivered in the community. We aim to provide the best possible care for the growing, dynamic, and diverse populations of Bradford, Airedale, Wharfdale and Craven. We employ over 3,000 staff and have an annual income of almost £150 million. Our values, "We Care, We Listen and We Deliver" are fundamental to our culture; we actively celebrate diversity and our staff are involved in leadership at all levels with the permission to innovate and to take both action and accountability. Our partnerships are central to our development and as a healthcare provider operating in the community, we are at the heart of health and social care services across the systems locally and regionally; we are committed to ensuring services are seamless for our populations and co-produced with our diverse service users and communities.
Patrick Scott our Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer is currently our Interim Chief Executive and we are pleased to welcome Therese Patten who will join us in September as our new Chief Executive. We are looking forward to working together to deliver ‘Better Lives, Together’ - our strategic framework developed with our staff and communities and guiding our development towards 2023. Whilst we currently tackle the unprecedented demands of the COVID-19 crisis, we recognise the strong collaborative relationships with our partners in the health and social care system locally and regionally are essential in allowing us to serve our communities both during the pandemic and in the demands of its aftermath.
Everything we do will contribute to one or more of our four goals to achieve our vision of connecting people to the best quality care, when and where they need it, and be the best place to work. Key to achieving this vision will be our community engagement, focus on continuous quality improvement, embracing digital transformation, focus on leadership and staff development, estates, service innovation and growth. Our quality improvement journey so far has been positive, recognised by CQC via their recent re-visits to our mental health in-patient services and supported by our Care Trust Way coaching approach and Kaizen Promotion Office (KPO).
The Director of Finance, Contracting and Estates is a broad position and central to creating a sustainable financial framework in which we can deliver our strategic aims. We have exciting investments on the horizon which will require robust programme management from this role. We are seeking an exceptional finance leader operating at or close to Board level and with an appreciation of the complex system in which we operate. You will be a champion of diversity and inclusion, share our values and demonstrate a focus on continuous quality improvement. A corporate leader working with our Board, you will inspire our dedicated staff as we work with partners to create new models of care which are fit for the future.
If you feel excited by the opportunity to work with us in a key leadership position within this energised organisation and system then do read further and call our recruitment partners Jim Canning or Emma Pickup at GatenbySanderson on 07384 113 158 to discuss your interest.
We look forward to meeting you during the process.
